FAQ

  • In South Africa, a “quick loan” is generally a small loan designed for fast approval and short repayment periods. FindBetter also offers payday loans, which are typically due within one month, but can be as long as three. However, if you need a loan with a repayment term of three months or more and slightly lower interest rates, we can connect you with other trusted lenders who offer better terms.
  • It’s important to choose reputable lenders – like our partners – who are regulated to ensure fair fees and trustworthy practices.

While both quick loans and personal loans provide funds for personal use, a quick loan is typically a short-term loan with faster approval, often repaid within a few months. Personal loans, however, usually offer larger amounts with longer repayment terms, often up to several years.

Our lenders can offer short repayment periods for quick loans given out in less than 3 months, but also repayment periods for longer periods, such as 3-12 months. For instance, if you’re borrowing R10,000, a 6-month term might provide a manageable repayment schedule. Generally, longer repayment periods come with better interest rates, making it easier to budget over time

Quick loans tend to have higher interest rates because of the short repayment term and fast approval. If you prefer lower interest rates, a longer-term personal loan might be an option.

All our lenders are verified lenders that follow the National Credit Act’s guidelines to ensure fair terms and transparency. Fees and interest are regulated and loans taken through online websites such as FindBetter are often safer than borrowing through mashonisas.

A Quick loan or short term loan is often not the best solution, especially if you are currently in debt. FindBetter may be able to offer a better solution, that can free up cash so that you can afford your monthly expenses while paying back all your lenders. It’s a common to think that a Payday or Paycheck loan can be obtained without any documentation. You still need to provide Proof of Income, with slight differences depending on your employment status. But you need to provide proof of income in the form of either bank statements or payslips. You also need a South African ID card.
The only additional document you need when applying for a short-term or quick loan (for a period longer than 3 months), is proof of residence.
